Well, 3 of them at least.
Here's a 30 second summary of what has happened: Yoochun, Jaejoong and Junsu of DBSK are filing an injunction against their management / talent company, SM Entertainment, because they think that their 13 year contract is too long and that they're not getting paid fairly for their work.
They also mentioned stuff like being overworked and typical boring idol gripes.
So before we move on, all you mental DBSK fangirls (and those fanboys) please go away (non-mental ones can stay). If you can't be realistic about this matter, don't read this post.
[Are they getting paid too little?]The details are really sketchy regarding how much DBSK is getting in terms of pay. SM Entertainment just released a statement saying that over the last 5 years, DBSK has made roughly 40.28 million USD for the company. And remember that this excludes endorsements and shoots and all that other stuff.
We take away 18 million from this figure because SM needs to pay for expenses on them. That leaves us with 22 million.
Let's just take the most extreme figure, the most favorable one for DBSK. Let's just say they split these profits 1:9 with SM Entertainment taking 90% of the profits.
That leaves us with 2.2 million USD.
Split that by 5 members, we have 440,000 USD.
Over five years, that's 88000 USD per year per member. Which equates to about 7300 USD per month.
How many of you earn 7300 USD or more a month? How many of you have parents which do?
Let's face it, 7300 USD a month in pay is something many of us wish we had but we don't. And here they're complaining that they don't have enough?
And best of all, these people have NOTHING to pay for. Food is taken care of by their company, as are utilities, rent, medical fees, travel, clothing and perhaps the occasional luxury item.
That's 7300 USD lying around monthly for you to spend on ANYTHING you want.
Is that STILL too little?
And this is taking the most extreme figure too. To get a closer figure, we'd have to look at what both sides are saying.
SM Entertainment released a statement saying the profits were split 40:60, with DBSK taking 40%.
Now if you were DBSK, and knew that you were getting say, 20% of the profits, you would come out and say "hell, no, we're getting way less than what they claimed".
But instead, what do they say?
"The calculations of the profits are too vague. We cannot trust it."
You know what else is too vague? Your fucking statement is what's too vague. Doesn't this sound like a flimsy excuse?
Child: I cleaned my room and did my homework and ate my vegetables and STILL my mom doesn't let me play outside!
Mother: *shows messy room, unfinished homework and plate of uneaten vegetables*
Child: ... Her standards are too high, we cannot trust her.
*slams head against table repeatedly*
But of course, SM Entertainment might be trying to downplay the figures too by making it seem they took a smaller cut of the profits. So let's buffer these figures a bit and say, DBSK took 25% while SM Entertainment took 75%.
That equates to each DBSK member getting 18300 USD per month.
Remember, WITHOUT HAVING TO PAY ANYTHING.
Is that STILL too little? Do they need money to stuff down their underwear to make themselves look bigger? Well, they really should, whiny bunch of girly giants.
I rest my case.
(And if SM is telling the truth, it equates to roughly 29000 USD a month in pay for each member. 29000! That's DEFINITELY not little.)
And even if they are getting a 10:90 split, they AGREED to it in the first place by signing that contract. Which brings me to my next point...
[Isn't a 13-year contract unreasonable? They're so tired and overworked!]
You know, if it really were THAT unreasonable, why sign it in the first place?
And it's not as if they didn't know it was going to be tough being an artiste anyways. Every artiste in the indsutry bemoans this fact whenever they have the chance to so that they can gain sympathy from the fans.
And somehow, ALL THESE artistes talking DIDN'T reach them? Are they like, locked up on some secret island?
Did someone FORCE them to sign these contracts?
The simple fact of the matter is that they've made their own beds, and they should just lie in it. Whining about it AFTER they've decided their fates is just childish.
And! It's not like the bed is a terrible bed either! Fame, fortune, loads of girls (and the odd guy or two) offering themselves willingly to you, what's so bad about that life?
(And don't even try to bring "lack of privacy" into this. Even a kid should know that being famous would lead to you having no privacy. And you become an artiste to become famous, because no one wants to be a struggling artiste.)
[Why else shouldn't they file an injunction against SM?]
Well, for one, it's bloody ungrateful. See, SM Entertainment were the ones who made them who they are today. Had they not "tortured" them with their insane training and such, gave them inhumane schedules and promoted them like mad, do you think DBSK would be well-known enough for anyone to care about this issue today?
Do not bite the hand that feeds you, we've all heard this saying at one point of our life or another. But not only are they biting this hand, they're claiming this hand fed them too little. How's that for being bloody ungrateful?
Perhaps DBSK is really being treated very badly (in which case, I ask, why can Yunho and Changmin tolerate it and not them?), perhaps a 13-year contract is unreasonable (why sign it in the first place then?), perhaps they are getting paid unfairly (define fair, considering SM were the ones who made them who they are today), but whatever it is, THEY GOT THEMSELVES INTO THIS SITUATION IN THE FIRST PLACE. Nobody forced them to sign any papers. Perhaps yes, SM DID take advantage of them, but SM definitely couldn't have FORCED them.
Be a man, face up to what you do. Stop all this legal whining, so many others are having it way worse than you guys are. Irritating.

By the way, I got home from work today REALLY late only to see EVEN more Kpop questions that came in in the past few days (I prepared this post over the weekend) so now I'm staying up just to finish up the post. And I totally have to reach work early tomorrow, so all of you better be like grateful or something.
Anyways, for future Q4Rs, PLEASE try not to ask me to review PVs anymore? I know it's probably the funniest stuff you'll ever read on here, but work does not permit me a lot of time for blogging anymore (I work all 7 days of the week, if you didn't already know). You can still recommend me PVs to watch, and if I think there's a post to be made from it, then I'll blog about it. Otherwise, if you tell me to "OMG REVIEW THIS PV", I don't think I'll be able to. I mean, I would really love to if I could, but I just don't have the time anymore.

Well, Super Junior is just a group of guys who love to have kinky orgies. The different subgroups is for the different fetishes they have.
Super Junior - K.R.Y: Stands for
Kissing, Rubbing and Yodeling. Yeah, they're kinky like that. They have really noisy and disturbing sex.
Super Junior - T: Stands for
Top. Three crazy tops trying to top each other. Loads of naked wrestling involved.
Super Junior - M: Stands for
Masochistic. This group of members sit in a circle smacking each other and orgasming all over each other. Loads of crying involved.

Indeed it IS Big Bang. Suju is toooooo ghey (think drunken frat boys who haven't gotten any in decades and are really desperate and had some sort of sexual powder sprinkled all over them with loads of estrogen pills). DBSK is too... I don't know, old? Only old grannies love DBSK (not kidding by the way).
Big Bang's music is fun, different, and all of the members grow on you after a while. They're not safe and bland yet not overly produced to make them seem fake. So yeah, Big Bang it is.

i, for one, LOVED it ^^
I loved it in the beginning, and thought it was going to be the BIGGEST SONG of 2009.
But just 15 to 20 listens later, I got so thoroughly sick of it that I removed it from my playlist.
It's an interesting song yes, but it is so monotonous and similar after a while that it fades out very quickly.
And the MV was far too messy and busy. There was too much going on and if you look very closely, Eeteuk makes a lot of mistakes in the dancing.
Not cool at all.
But yes, I did think it was hot and sexy in the beginning. Even if Kangin's hair in the MV made me wonder which wig shop made that monstrosity.

Anyways, my favorite songs, as I've repeated again and again, have a very distinct "hummable" melody, or is cracktastic, or is repetitive and hence addictive. I guess this applies to these five Big Bang songs:
- WONDERFUL
- Stylish
- Sunset Glow
- Last Farewell
- Lollipop
- (One more just because!) Seungri's solo Strong Baby
All worth trying. Very upbeat stuff that's bound to put you in the mood for partying or make your day that much better.
(On a side note, whenever I introduce Big Bang to anyone, it's usually TOP's rapping that turns them off. So try to ignore that I suppose? I quite like his rapping, so I don't see the whole point but you know. It's too much of a waste for you to give up on them just because you hate the rapping.)

Probably never. You see, I get the feeling that people only enjoy my blog if they know who the heck I'm talking about. If I rant about KAT-TUN and Ayumi, it'll be funny because you probably agree on some of the things I say etc. This puts me in a rather difficult position on Kpop, how do I make it "familiar" to my readers before I actually start bashing these people?
I still have no answer for this, so yes, probably never going to start blogging about Kpop.

I don't think so, no. It's not so much a switch as it is a... new interest? I don't know. I don't think I can ever truly give up Jpop, it is after all my first love and all. *mushy*
But Jpop has been infuriating recently, with almost everything that's coming out being so generic and same-ish. Kpop has more varied styles and the videos are more often than not, pretty damn amazing.
But I'll admit, Kpop has distracted me plenty from Jpop recently. *shrugs*

Well firstly, it wasn't so much "all of a sudden" as it was a futile struggle from the very beginning. I've heard a few Kpop songs here and there and have quite liked them, but just didn't like the idea of being a Kpop fan myself. (Another ironic fact, one of my first ever Kpop song is Super Junior's
Miracle. Oh god.)
And then I fell in love with one of SHINee's songs
SA.GAE.HAN (Love should go on) which was already bad enough.
Then Alex (
remember him?) came along with his smooth as chocolate voice which prompted me to watch We Got Married (a variety show) on which all the stars were being so lovey-dovey and from then my resistance against Kpop just gets weaker and weaker.
(I even
bought an Alex album. Uh-oh.)
And then Big Bang's
Haru Haru came out and I found the MV hilarious (in Korea they don't call it PVs for some odd reason). But strangely, the song got stuck in my head for the longest time.
Bad.
And then Big Bang's 2nd album came out and I went CRAZY about the two songs
Sunset Glow and
WONDERFUL. (I mentioned them in my
Top 30 Best Songs list last year)
At this point, I just like Big Bang for their songs.
But!!! One of their members had to go do that sexy MV for his solo. Yes, I'm talking about Seungri and
Strong Baby.
Around the same time, I found a video of SNSD's
Gee. And from then on, the battle was over. I was one of them.
NUUUUU.

Loads of questions this week! I think I just picked those that require less "reviewing", since I'm feeling kind of lazy (it's the HOLIDAYS! WHEE).
- Bah, not sure if it got through.
But anyway.
If you could, which 2 (or more) Asians guys would you group up together, and what would you make them do to each other?
I'll be honest and tell you that this list of sorts changes CONSTANTLY, so off the top of my head currently it would be these two guys:
Taeyang & Seungri
And erm, let's just say it involves chocolate syrup. And lots of licking.
- So, Tohoshinki came out with a new song, Survivor (which they pronounce Suhbaibuh). I personally think that the dancing is absolutely cracktastic. What do you think?
The song is... rather... disconnected. The verse is disconnected from the song which is disconnected from the PV. And Changmin constantly sounds like a duck. And Junsu sounds like he has his balls tied in a painful knot. And Yoochun sounds like he's a horny, flu-infected husky.
It reeks of "let's just release something so the fans can spend money so we can buy ourselves time to do something else lousy".
I guess is better than that "Kiss the Baby Sky" rubbish they did. It was far too high for all of them to reach, littered with crappy Engrish like "
Never cry, Never ever hide of myself prime". Yeah yeah, whatever. If your prime is like this then you're really really sad.
- Which is better in terms of singing, concerts, and appeal - Kanjani8, News, or Kat-Tun?
And I'm going to have to shock you and tell you that I've only ever watched ONE full JE concert, and that was Arashi's. I can't bring myself to sit through all that... screaming. And jumping. And waving. And all the float-going-around-audience thing they always do.
But other than that, I can safely say that I prefer NEWS' voices as a whole (they sound more... suited for each other?) and Kanjani8's personalities (bunch of drunkish retards! What else can one ask for?). KAT-TUN is really just crap in heels and long skirts (sadly, I'm not kidding about the heels and long skirts).

They're a new Avex group called Saihuun, and it is made up of 9-15 (no one really knows anymore) "mystery" males from Avex. If you listen carefully, it's pretty obvious that the three voices you hear in this clip belongs to Nishijima Takahiro, Urata Naoya and Hidaka Mitsuhiro of AAA.
If done right, this might possibly be the most epic group/single/album for 2009. It already sounds much better than AAA!
